The Faculty of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU) held an event dedicated to Victory Day on November 8.
A minute’s silence was held in honour of the heroes who rose to the top of martyrdom for the sake of our territorial integrity. The national Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played at the event.
The event was attended by the Rector of the University, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Ibrahim Jafarov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work, Associate Professor Azad Ibrahimov, Head of the Internal Control Department Namig Jafarov, Dean of the Faculty of Soil Science and Agrochemistry Khalig Khalilov, Professors and students.
Rector Ibrahim Jafarov noted in his speech that the Patriotic War is a brilliant victory of our country. Emphasizing that the patriotic education of the young generation is one of the main duties of the educational institutions, the Rector said that six university employees served heroically during the Patriotic War.
Agricultural university employees who participated in the Patriotic War: Namig Jafarov, Head of the Internal Control Department, awarded the "For the Liberation of Shusha" Medal, Eljan Mammadov, Head of the Press and Public Relations Department, Associate Professor of Information Technology Department Zaman Zeynalov, Senior Professor of Agricultural Engineering Department Gurban Gurbanov, Senior Lecturer of Agricultural Economics Department Fariz Suleimanov and Supervisor of Student House No.2 Asif Hajizade, awarded medals «the Brave fighter», «For the liberation of Shusha», «For the liberation of Fizuli», «For the liberation of Khojavend», expressed gratitude to the President of the country, The leadership of the university for their attention and concern and expressed their readiness at any time to carry out the task and call of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
At the end, the students demonstrated musical numbers and compositions in the spirit of patriotism.
